The story of Rama and Ravana is told in the Ramayana, an ancient Indian epic in the Sanskrit language whose influence spread far beyond India. Ravana, the King of Lanka, abducts Sita who was the wife of Rama, a Prince of Ayodhya. In a conflict between Dharma and Adharma, Rama launches a war against Ravana with the help of King Sugriva and his Vanar Sena. Finally killing Ravana and rescuing his beloved Sita.
